Artist Biography

Julian Fischer is a Swiss/Zimbabwean artist whose practice reflects a lifelong connection to East and Southern Africa. His work explores figuration through subtle gestures, emotional presence, and surreal shifts in scale. Animals, natural landscapes, and human forms converge to contemplate our evolving relationship with nature.

Influenced by mythology, art history, and everyday observation, Julian’s work seeks the sublime in the ordinary. A keen interest in light creates a sense of theatre, questioning the fragile boundary between the real and the imagined.
