Casmia Nyamuba
Biography
Casmia Nyamuba is a Harare-based Zimbabwean fine artist, born in 1961, known for his work in oil painting and printmaking. Trained at the BAT Workshop under Paul Wade and later at Harare Polytechnic, his practice blends fine art with graphic design. His work draws from African abstraction, using indigenous symbols, earthy tones, and geometric forms to explore cultural memory and contemporary African identity. Nyamuba has undertaken notable commissions—including a wildlife mural in Hwange and a book cover for Petals of Blood—and has exhibited internationally. He remains active in Zimbabwe’s art scene, seeing art as both a personal journey and a way to connect past and present.
